This solo exhibition will include Mr. Dong’s works, including “Before ‘The Death of Author’,” “7 Hours and 23 Minutes of 2147 Madison Road, No. 8 Buena Vista Court, and the Stay Art Festival,” and others. With photography, video, and multimedia works, this exhibition will reveal the seemingly mysterious process of artmaking and tackle the relationship between labor and creativity. The juxtaposition of temporality and locality of various artworks in Yuxiang Dong's works will demonstrate how the meaning of an artwork is generated by the interaction between the artist and audiences and how this kind of interaction is mediated by algorithm, platforms, and users today.
